"Billions of manats are allocated annually for the restoration and reconstruction of the territories liberated from occupation."

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by the director of the "Atlas" research center, political analyst Elkhan Shakhinoglu.

He emphasized that the more than thirty-year occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia caused colossal damage to these areas. All houses and museums were destroyed, and enormous harm was inflicted on the ecosystem.

During his speech, Elkhan Shakhinoglu noted the successful implementation of the "Great Return" program.

He also drew attention to the fact that Azerbaijan is currently carrying out both large-scale construction and restoration works, as well as ecosystem rehabilitation in the regions liberated from occupation.

The political analyst pointed out that the main part of these restoration works is financed from the country's state budget, while a portion is implemented with the participation of partner countries.

"The territories are being cleared of mines, trees are being planted, hydroelectric power stations are being built. All of this is being carried out by Azerbaijan at its own expense. Of course, a number of Azerbaijan's partner countries are also involved in the construction and restoration works in the liberated regions. However, the main burden lies specifically on Azerbaijan. Billions of manats are allocated from the country's budget for these purposes every year. This will continue in the coming years as well, since these territories must be restored, people must be resettled there and continue their lives in comfortable conditions," E. Shakhinoglu concluded.
