In the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan, there was a call to develop and popularize academic music

Chairperson of the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan Firangiz Alizade called for special attention to the development, preservation, and promotion of academic music on various platforms.

As Report informs, she made this statement at the first congress of the Union of Composers of the Turkic World in Baku.

According to her, special attention should be paid to this direction in the future.

"We have mugham, pop music, folk songs, ashug music, and jazz - we have no complaints about any of these directions. However, in the field of academic music, there are very serious problems. I would like this to become the main direction of our further work: to develop, create, and preserve academic music, as well as to popularize it on various platforms," said Firangiz Alizade.

She also expressed confidence that the congress would become a successful platform for exchanging views on these issues.
