International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) presented the mascots for the 2026 World Cup on September 25, 2025 – the first trio of characters in history for a joint tournament across three countries.

According to the official announcement on FIFA's website, the mascots are Maple the moose (Canada), Zaiyu the jaguar (Mexico), and Clutch the bald eagle (USA), embodying the culture, heritage, and passion for football of the host nations. FIFA President Gianni Infantino noted: "These three are key to the exciting atmosphere of the tournament, they will win the hearts of fans from North America to the entire world and will debut in the FIFA Heroes game in 2026." This is an innovation for the 48-team World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with 104 matches and the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The mascots, designed with diversity in mind, will be the first in the FIFAe lineup – digital projects for young fans. Maple is an energetic moose wearing a Canadian sweater, Zaiyu is a clever jaguar wearing a sombrero, and Clutch is a brave eagle with a football scarf. Infantino emphasized: "They are on t-shirts, in video games, and at celebrations – a trio of unity." The licensed FIFA Heroes game will be released in 2026, allowing fans to play as the mascots.
