Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV) An outbreak of human metapneumovirus (hMPV), which causes acute respiratory infections, has been recorded in China. The virus is transmitted through airborne droplets and manifests with symptoms similar to acute respiratory viral infections: runny nose, cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Children, elderly people, and patients with weakened immune systems are at the greatest risk. There is currently no specific treatment or vaccine against hMPV.

Camp Hill Henipavirus In the United States, scientists have discovered a new virus, named Camp Hill, in shrews in Alabama. It belongs to the henipavirus family, some of which are already known to be dangerous to humans. No human cases have been recorded yet, but specialists continue to monitor the situation.
