110-year-old woman revealed a strange secret of longevity
One of the oldest residents of Austria celebrated her 110th birthday and revealed the strange secret of her longevity. This is reported by Need To Know (NTK).
Emma Wenda celebrated her latest birthday in a nursing home in Vienna. The woman was born in 1915, trained as a cook before World War II, and worked for several years in the service industry. In 1940, she became a tram conductor and served in this position until her retirement in 1970.
The long-lived woman had five brothers and sisters. She was married to Josef Wenda, who passed away in 1969. Despite her advanced age and poor eyesight, the Austrian leads an active lifestyle. In particular, she loves listening to audiobooks. Wenda attributed the reason for her longevity to the hardships she endured in her youth. "During the war, we ate so little, and life was hard and joyless. This toughened my body," she said.
The woman's health indeed surprises her relatives and acquaintances. At 102, she successfully underwent a hip replacement, and at 103 - dental implantation. Wenda's niece said that she had always been very curious and maintains this character trait to this day.
