Russia's approaches to Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization are unchanged and not subject to political circumstances.

This was stated in an interview with "RIA Novosti" by Mikhail Kalugin, Director of the Fourth Department of CIS Countries at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Our approaches to Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization are unchanged and not subject to political circumstances. We stand for the establishment of a lasting and reliable peace, ensuring security and prosperity in the South Caucasus," he said.

The diplomat emphasized that this is precisely what underlies the Russian side's efforts to facilitate the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan in such key areas as the conclusion of a peace agreement, the unblocking of transport communications, border delimitation, and public contacts.
