Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the development of strategic partnership between the two countries with Aryeh Lightstone, Senior Advisor to the U.S. Special Representative for Peace Missions.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, as well as regional issues.

J. Bayramov noted the significance of the Washington summit on August 8, 2025, for elevating Azerbaijan-U.S. relations to the level of strategic partnership. He also emphasized the importance of the Charter on Strategic Partnership signed on February 10, 2026, and reviewed the work of the working groups established within its framework.

The expansion of economic and energy cooperation was discussed separately, including projects in the fields of energy, investment, and high technologies.

The parties also exchanged views on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the development of regional transport links, and the implementation of the TRIPP project.

J. Bayramov informed the American side about Azerbaijan's steps to advance the peace agenda, open regional communications, and strengthen peace and stability in the region.

The parties emphasized the need for further development of strategic partnership and practical implementation of the agreements reached.
