Pashinyan: Armenia intends to increase the presence of its border guards along the border

Armenia plans to increase the presence of its border guards along the internationally recognized borders of the country.
According to Armenian media, this was announced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at an event dedicated to Border Guard Day.
"Our policy is to increasingly expand the presence of border guards along the internationally recognized borders of Armenia. This is a very important intermediate step towards lasting and institutional peace and stability," said Pashinyan.
It should be noted that Armenia has land borders with four countries (Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Georgia). Armenian border guards protect the Armenian-Georgian and Armenian-Azerbaijani borders. The Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Iranian borders are guarded by four border detachments of the special department of the Russian FSB in Armenia. Since January 1, 2025, the Border Troops of the Armenian National Security Service have also been participating in guarding the state borders of Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Turkey.
