Minister of Tajikistan: Our trade turnover with Azerbaijan has grown by 200%
Azerbaijan is one of our main trading partners. We cooperate in several areas through SPECA, CIS, and other regional platforms. Very close relations exist between the Republic of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan. Our relations are built at a high level, including at the presidential level.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda stated this to Oxu.Az during the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group in Baku.
According to him, last year the trade turnover between the two countries grew by approximately 200%.
"In the first five months of 2026, growth in our trade turnover is also being observed. We hope that in the future, close cooperation will be established not only at the governmental level but also between the private sector," he said.
The minister noted that the two countries opened a joint venture, TajAzer Trade, which operates in the area of exporting agricultural products from Tajikistan to Azerbaijan.
"We hope that in the future we will be able to further develop our cooperation through the Alat Free Economic Zone and the five free economic zones of Tajikistan," he added.
A. Abdurahmonzoda added that he had a productive meeting with Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
"We hope that in the future we will further develop trade and economic ties between both countries," the minister emphasized.
