A meeting between Ilham Aliyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov took place in Turkmenbashi

On October 8, a meeting between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took place in the city of Turkmenbashi.

As reported by BAKU.WS, during the conversation, the visits of the President of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, and the visits of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Azerbaijan, including to Karabakh, were noted with satisfaction, and the important role of these visits in the development of bilateral relations was emphasized. It was noted that the five summit-level visits between the two countries since last year are a clear indicator of the intensity of political dialogue and the dynamics of mutual ties.

At the meeting, it was noted with satisfaction that friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have been developing dynamically in recent years. Issues of expanding cooperation in political, economic, transport, transit, logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the topic of the Caspian Sea and interaction within the framework of international organizations were discussed.

The important role of the VIII Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia was emphasized in terms of further strengthening the partnership between our country and the states of the region, expanding regional cooperation and discussing issues of mutual interest.

President Ilham Aliyev noted the high level of organization of the event.

Recalling the admission of Azerbaijan as a full member to the format of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia in November last year, President Ilham Aliyev once again expressed gratitude for the unanimous support of this historic initiative put forward by Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The heads of state exchanged views on the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
