Expert explained which messages are dangerous to open in WhatsApp

Users of electronic devices who carelessly read messages in WhatsApp risk facing serious consequences for the security of their data.
A disturbing warning was issued by cybersecurity expert Shamil Magomedov, reports BAKU.WS with reference to Russian media.
The specialist emphasized that any messages from unknown senders in the popular messenger may pose a threat. Particularly dangerous are "GIFs" - short looped videos, as well as text files and links sent by strangers.
When opening such messages with malicious content, users may unknowingly install spyware on their device. Such programs gain access to installed applications and personal data. According to the expert, there is only one reliable method of protection against such cyber threats.
Magomedov strongly recommends: if during the preview of a message it is visible that it contains suspicious files or links, you should categorically not open it. Such messages should be immediately deleted and marked as spam. According to the specialist, only such a decisive approach can guarantee reliable protection against device hacking.
