The European Union plans to allocate 100 billion euros to support Ukraine as part of the long-term budget for the period 2028-2034. These funds are intended to be distributed through a special mechanism called the "Ukraine Facility".

This was reported by "RBC-Ukraine" publication, citing a statement by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made during the budget project presentation.

According to her, the previously established fund of 50 billion euros is gradually being depleted. "These funds are slowly but steadily decreasing. Therefore, we are proposing a new package - 100 billion euros to replenish the fund and continue supporting Ukraine's recovery," von der Leyen emphasized.

It is noted that the decision is not yet final. After the publication of the budget project, the European Parliament and the EU Council must voice their positions. The approval of the final version of the budget is expected by the end of 2027.

The Ukraine Facility program is a financial instrument of the European Union created to help Ukraine during wartime conditions and in the post-war reconstruction process. For 2024-2027, it already provides for 50 billion euros.
