Caution! These decorative plants pose a deadly threat

Many elegant decorative flowers that please the eye with their beauty actually possess poisonous properties. Few people know that some houseplants not only decorate the interior – their leaves and flowers can cause serious poisoning and even lead to fatal outcomes.
Specialists warn: such plants pose a particular danger in homes with small children and pets.
Here is a list of dangerous decorative plants:
**Oleander (Nerium oleander)**
Contains oleandrin and neriin, making the leaves, flowers, and even dried parts of the plant poisonous. Even a small amount can be deadly.
**Dieffenbachia (Weeping Bride / Dumb cane)**
Contains calcium oxalate crystals. Chewing the leaves causes burning and swelling of the oral cavity and throat, as well as difficulty speaking.
**Lily (Lily species, especially Lilium and Hemerocallis)**
Especially toxic to cats. Even the pollen can be deadly. Less dangerous for humans, but still requires caution.
**Datura (Flower of Hell / Angel's trumpet or Jimsonweed)**
Contains atropine, scopolamine, hyoscyamine. All parts of the plant are poisonous and can cause hallucinations, seizures, and lead to death.
**Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea)**
Contains digoxin and other cardioactive glycosides. Can disrupt heart rhythm with fatal outcomes.
**Calla Lily (Zantedeschia)**
Leaves and flowers contain calcium oxalate crystals, causing burning in the mouth and throat, increased salivation, and difficulty swallowing.
**Hydrangea (Ortanca)**
When consumed in large quantities, can cause nausea, vomiting, and difficulty breathing.
**Lily of the Valley (Convallaria majalis)**
The cardiac glycosides it contains can alter heart rhythm and cause poisoning.
**Azalea and Rhododendron**
Contain grayanotoxins. Even a small amount can disrupt heart rhythm, cause gastrointestinal disorders, and even lead to death.
