WhatsApp has launched a new AI-based function

The popular messenger WhatsApp has introduced the long-awaited Message Summaries feature, which will help users save time when returning to overflowing chats. This was reported in the company's official blog.

The new tool, powered by artificial intelligence, automatically creates brief summaries of unread messages, freeing users from the need to view each message individually. The technology uses the capabilities of the Meta AI model in combination with the Private Processing system, which ensures complete data confidentiality.

The developers paid special attention to privacy issues: summaries are generated locally on the user's device, without transferring information to third parties, including Meta and WhatsApp itself. It's important to note that chat participants also do not have access to the created summaries.

To activate the new feature, users need to enable it themselves in the application settings through the Advanced chat privacy section, where they can select specific chats for using AI tools.
