Military salaries and pensions are being increased in Azerbaijan

Salaries and pensions of military personnel are being raised in Azerbaijan.

As reported by ölkə.az, legislative amendments are being introduced in connection with this.

The draft amendments have already been submitted to the Milli Majlis and will be put up for discussion at the meeting of the Committee on Defense, Security, and Anti-Corruption, which will be held on September 25.

The draft provides for amendments to a number of laws. The goal is to improve the social welfare of military personnel.

Military expert Adalat Verdiyev also reported that the salaries and pensions of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan are being brought in line with the advanced international system.

"According to the information I have, a new reform package in this area is already on the horizon. Finally, the military pay system will be based on international standards and will have a unified structure. Salaries will be calculated taking into account the place of service, its specifics, conditions, and difficulty. The salaries of Ministry of Defense military personnel are being increased on average by approximately 25% and more. The base position salary is being replaced by a military rank-based salary, the share of which in the payment structure is being raised to 70%.

The pension provision mechanism for Ministry of Defense military personnel is also being improved and fully digitized. On the eve of the next anniversary of the Patriotic War, this will be very timely. Reliable social security is the well-deserved right of our Victorious army!" emphasized Adalat Verdiyev.
