Turkey's tourism revenue for the past year reached a record $65.2 billion, which is 6.8% more than the previous year, and by 2026 it is planned to increase this to $68 billion.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the newspaper Dunya, citing the republic's Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

"Turkish tourism has become an influential force not only at the regional but also at the global level. Turkey's tourism revenue in 2025 amounted to about $65.23 billion, and the target for 2026 is $68 billion. Last year, Turkey was visited by 64 million tourists," he said.

Ersoy recalled that, according to UN Tourism data, in 2017 Turkey ranked eighth in the world among countries receiving the largest number of tourists, and by 2024 it had risen to fourth place. As for the level of revenue from the industry, in 2017 Turkey ranked 15th, and in 2024 it became seventh in the world.

According to him, tourism in Turkey has gone beyond sea and beach holidays, as the country's regions are also actively involved in the industry, offering cultural and religious, natural, ecological, archaeological, wellness, gastronomic, congress and exhibition, winter and many other types of tourism.

As reported, 52.77 million foreign tourists visited Turkey in 2025, which is practically the same level as in 2024 (52.62 million).
