During a flight from the USA to Canada, passengers experienced tense minutes after the aircraft commander fell ill mid-flight. Some people on board began to pray, fearing the outcome of the situation.

As reported by BAKU.WS citing foreign media, the incident occurred on June 24 aboard a PAL Airlines aircraft operating a flight from Newark Airport (New Jersey) to Halifax, Canada. There were 61 passengers on board.

According to eyewitnesses, shortly after takeoff the aircraft unexpectedly began changing its trajectory. One of the passengers, Rodney MacDonald, said that the plane was sharply deviating from its course, creating the impression that someone was chaotically handling the controls. According to him, his sons immediately began to pray.

It was later revealed that the crew commander had suffered a seizure. Flight attendants escorted the pilot out of the cockpit, after which several passengers helped restrain him. As MacDonald noted, the man was not in control of his actions, so he had to be secured with several seatbelts. According to him, this tense situation lasted about 40 minutes.

The co-pilot took control of the aircraft and successfully made an emergency landing at Boston Airport. After landing, ambulance crews arrived at the plane, and the aircraft itself was towed to the terminal for necessary procedures.

After some time, the flight was resumed, and the passengers safely reached Halifax, arriving at their destination at around 9:30 PM local time.
