The army, established after the proclamation of Azerbaijan's independence on May 28, 1918, with the participation of Ottoman Empire officers, is today among the strongest in the region. Having demonstrated its power during the second Karabakh war in 2020, since then the Azerbaijani army has been celebrating the anniversary of its founding with pride in the liberation of its lands from occupation and the Victory achieved.
