Trump threatened Russia and said he is "furious" over Putin's words

US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose new sanctions on Russian oil if Moscow does not agree to a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
As reported by BAKU.WS, in an interview with NBC News, the American leader said he is ready to take tough measures if he believes that Russia is obstructing peace negotiations.
"If we fail to reach an agreement to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine and I decide that Russia is to blame, I will impose secondary duties on all Russian oil," Trump stated.
According to him, this would mean that companies buying oil from Russia would not be able to do business in the US. Moreover, Trump promised that a 25 percent tariff on Russian oil and other goods would be introduced within a month if Moscow does not make concessions.
Trump also said that he plans to discuss the situation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days.
The American leader admitted that he was "very angry" and even "furious" when he heard Putin's proposal about possible temporary governance in Ukraine under the auspices of the UN. According to the Kremlin, this could ensure elections and create conditions for dialogue with a new Ukrainian government.
"Putin knows I'm angry. But he also knows that my anger passes quickly if he does the right thing," Trump added, noting that they still have "very good relations".
