Zelensky responded to the question everyone is interested in about giving up Crimea for peace
Giving up Crimea in exchange for peace with Russia is impossible - this was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference in Ankara, reports "RBC-Ukraine".
The head of state emphasized that Ukraine does not recognize Russian jurisdiction over the occupied territories, including Crimea:
"I remain committed to the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We do not recognize the annexation of temporarily occupied lands and the Crimean peninsula," Zelensky said.
He also reminded that discussing territorial concessions contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine:
"This is my principled position: not a single temporarily occupied territory can be recognized as Russian".
The president added that Ukraine is ready to engage in dialogue with Russia on humanitarian issues and problems of residents in occupied regions.
