The United States has begun selling Venezuelan oil on the world market
The United States government has begun selling Venezuelan oil on the world market in the interests of the US, Venezuela, and American allies.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Interfax," this is stated in a message from the US Department of Energy.
"We have engaged leading global commodity suppliers and key banks to provide financial support and carry out these sales of oil and petroleum products," the publication says.
It is specified that all proceeds from the sale of Venezuelan oil and petroleum products will first be credited to accounts controlled by the US in globally recognized banks to guarantee the legitimacy and integrity of the final distribution of revenue.
"These funds will be distributed in the interests of the American and Venezuelan people at the discretion of the US government. Oil sales will begin immediately, with the expected sale of about 30-50 million barrels. It will continue for an indefinite period," notes the US Department of Energy.
According to the message, American light oil will be supplied to Venezuela as needed for mixing with Venezuelan high-viscosity crude to optimize production and subsequent transportation of products. The import and export of oil from Venezuela will be carried out exclusively through authorized channels in accordance with US legislation and national security requirements.
The US is selectively lifting sanctions to ensure the transportation and sale of Venezuelan oil and petroleum products to global markets. In particular, the import of certain types of oilfield equipment, spare parts, and services will be permitted to compensate for years of production decline and ensure growth in the short term.
"This will require the use of technologies, expertise, and investments from American and other international partners in the energy industry," indicates the US Department of Energy.
