Ilham Aliyev: I am confident that the 240 MW power station will contribute to the overall development of the country

Today is a significant day in the life of our country. We are celebrating the commissioning of the "Khyzy-Absheron" wind power plant. This is a very important event. The plant, which will strengthen the energy potential of our country, is already starting operation today. I am confident that the 240 MW power plant will contribute to the overall development of our country.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the official opening ceremony of the 240 MW "Khyzy-Absheron" wind power plant.

"I remember well, exactly four years ago - in January 2022 - the foundation laying ceremony for this plant took place in this hall. Active work has been carried out over these years, and today we are celebrating this wonderful event together. First of all, I want to express gratitude to all the people, companies that contributed to the construction of this plant, primarily to the investor - ACWA Power company and its management. This is the first renewable energy power plant built by ACWA Power in Azerbaijan, but not the last. The company has more ambitious plans, and the Azerbaijani state fully supports them. I should also note that ACWA Power is one of the world's leading companies in this field and is simultaneously interested in implementing new projects in cooperation with Azerbaijani structures. This includes the same company that, as an investor, will implement the first project in our country to desalinate Caspian Sea water.

I should note the activities of Power China company, which participated in the construction of this plant as the general contractor. This company participated in this project as a contractor, but in other projects, it will also act as an investor. I am confident that all plans outlined by it in Azerbaijan will be implemented," said the head of state.
