The United States struck the Cuartel de la Montaña building in Caracas, which houses the remains of former Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez.

According to local media reports.

Previously, the building was a military museum, but after Chávez's death, the structure was converted into a mausoleum.

There is no official confirmation of this information at the moment.

Additionally, Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated that the US struck the National Assembly building (parliament) of Venezuela in Caracas. Petro wrote on social network X that in total at least 11 objects were attacked.

Explosions also occurred at two key airports in the country. Footage published on social media captured powerful explosions at Simón Bolívar International Airport, located less than 24 km from the center of Caracas. According to eyewitnesses, La Carlota airport - a smaller facility in the eastern part of the capital that serves military and private flights - was also targeted. Footage from the scene shows smoke rising above it.

Later, The New York Times reported that the explosions had stopped, however US military aircraft are still in the air.
