The military helicopter that crashed in the USA was piloted by a female pilot
The Black Hawk H-60 military helicopter that collided with a Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft was piloted by an experienced female pilot who had accumulated over 500 flight hours. The crew commander and flight instructor were also on board, ABC News reported.
"This was a very experienced crew," retired Army officer Jonathan Koziol told the channel in an interview.
According to him, the flight instructor had more than 1000 hours of flight experience, and the crew commander had several hundred hours. Given the short duration of most helicopter flights, the accumulated flight hours indicate the crew's high qualification, the former military officer added.
All three crew members died. On Thursday, the Pentagon suspended all flights of the unit to which the helicopter belonged.
