Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov confirmed the participation of military personnel from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in combat operations against the armed forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region.

"I would like to specifically note the participation of military personnel from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the liberation of the border areas of the Kursk region, who, in accordance with the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries, provided significant assistance in defeating the wedged grouping of the armed forces of Ukraine," said Valery Gerasimov during his report to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Valery Gerasimov also reported on the creation of a security zone in the border areas of the Sumy region of Ukraine.
