Zelensky set a condition for Trump

Ukraine is ready to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries (refineries) in exchange for reciprocal steps from Moscow to cease attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on social media platform X.

"Ukraine's energy sector, critical infrastructure, and our food export supplies must no longer be targets for Russia, and this will lead to corresponding de-escalation steps on our part," the Ukrainian leader wrote in English.

The statement came on the eve of a scheduled in-person meeting between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

According to the Axios portal, the American leader had earlier demanded during a phone conversation with Zelensky that Kyiv stop attacks on Russian refineries, which are driving up global diesel fuel prices. As the outlet's source noted, the word "diesel" was repeated numerous times during the negotiations.
