Security is yelling at me: Zelensky admitted that he lived in a bunker for two years
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lived in a bunker for two years and worked in the presidential office.
He revealed this in an interview with "Novyny.LIVE".
Now, the Ukrainian leader noted, he no longer lives in the bunker, but goes down there during nighttime air raid alerts. "Security yells at me, saying what kind of example is that for people. I agree. I go at night. I agree that it's wrong, but that's my way," Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine promised to show the bunker to journalists.
In 2023, a Times source reported that Zelensky and his aides were moved to an underground bunker immediately after the war with Russia began, and they spent most of their time there during the first two months of fighting. The president would periodically come out to show Ukrainians that he hadn't fled, the source told the publication.
Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg admitted that in the first two days of the conflict, it was difficult to reach Zelensky because he was in a bunker.
Later, the Times reported details of the Ukrainian president's stay in the bunker. According to the publication, at the beginning of military operations, Zelensky lived in a bunker deep underground with several trusted aides.
