Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv, there are dead and injured

At least nine people have been killed in a massive attack on Kyiv.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Ukrainian media, on the night of Monday, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined strike on Kyiv using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. According to preliminary information, at least nine people were killed and another 46 sustained injuries of varying severity.

A series of powerful explosions was heard in various districts of the Ukrainian capital, as well as in its suburbs. During the air raid alert, many residents were forced to seek shelter at metro stations.

According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, a residential building was partially destroyed in the Podilskyi district. In addition, several multi-story buildings were damaged in the Darnitskyi district. According to preliminary reports, people may remain trapped under the rubble, and rescue operations are continuing.

Tkachenko emphasized that the strike hit residential areas where civilians were present at the time of the attack. According to the Ukrainian official, people were in their homes going about their daily lives when the shelling began.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that air defense units were repelling the aerial attack and once again urged residents not to leave shelters until the official all-clear signal was given.

Commenting on the aftermath of the strike, the head of the city military administration noted that the tragedy affected dozens of families and expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had warned that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia was preparing a new large-scale strike on Kyiv. According to the Ukrainian leader, there was a high probability of another massive attack on the capital.
