Reuters: Witkoff named the key to ending the war in Ukraine

The fastest way to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine is to support a strategy that would give Russia ownership of the four eastern Ukrainian regions that the Russian Federation tried to illegally annex in 2022.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Reuters agency, this point of view was presented to US President Donald Trump by his special envoy Steven Witkoff.
According to sources familiar with the situation, Trump's special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, who was also present at the meeting, disagreed with Witkoff.
Reuters notes that Kellogg insisted that Kyiv, while ready to negotiate on some conditions regarding the disputed lands, would never agree to unilaterally transfer full ownership of these territories to Russia. The meeting ended without Trump making a decision to change US strategy.
In mid-March, it was reported that Kellogg was removed from participating in high-level negotiations on ending the war after Russia expressed unwillingness to see him among the participants, considering him too "pro-Ukrainian."
