Residents of Earth will be able to see a supermoon in October
In October, Earth's inhabitants will be able to observe a supermoon, when the Moon will be at the smallest distance from the Earth's center. This was reported to TASS by Vladilen Sanakoev, an engineer at the educational astronomical observatory of the Ural Federal University.
"During October, the Moon will change its distance from Earth: on October 7, we can expect a supermoon, the Moon will be at the smallest distance from Earth - less than 360 thousand kilometers. This is almost 14% less than during a micromoon, and the brightness of the moon compared to a micromoon will be almost 30% higher," said the engineer.
Sanakoev added that on October 8, the Moon will move away from Earth to 360 thousand kilometers. At the same time, on October 23, the natural satellite of the planet will be at a distance of 406 thousand kilometers.
The engineer noted that on October 13, Earth's inhabitants will be able to observe the Moon appearing next to Jupiter, and on the morning of October 19 - next to Venus. Because of this, according to him, residents of the Urals will see an unusual sunrise.
