New air defense system protected Ukraine's sky just days after delivery
The Ukrainian side received a batch of missiles for air defense systems (ADS) from international partners on February 8. They were already used to repel Russia's air attack on the night of the 12th.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the Munich Security Conference.
"Our air defense forces used missiles delivered by partners just a couple of days before this event. The shipment arrived on Sunday, and on the night of Thursday this weaponry was already providing protection of our airspace. This concerns just one night, however Russian strikes on Ukraine occur almost every night, and massive attacks are recorded at least weekly," he noted.
The Ukrainian president also noted that in January, Russian forces used 6 thousand strike UAVs against the country, over 150 missiles of various modifications, and more than 5 thousand guided aerial bombs.
