Munich Airport closed due to drone sighting
Munich International Airport has been closed due to the appearance of an unidentified object in the sky, presumably a drone.
This was reported to the Bild publication by Federal Police spokesperson Stefan Bayer.
"Around 9 a.m., pilots noticed a suspicious object," he noted.
Traffic on both runways has been suspended, and police are conducting a large-scale operation. Police officers are checking for any additional evidence related to the UAV. A helicopter has also been deployed.
For safety reasons, flights have been temporarily suspended. It is currently unclear how long the suspension will last.
