Iran Threatens to Close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait

The Bab el-Mandeb Strait will also be blocked in the event of a ground invasion of Iranian territory.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Iranian media citing a military source.

"The Bab el-Mandeb Strait is considered one of the strategically important straits in the world, and Iran possesses both the will and the capabilities to create a very real threat to it; therefore, if the Americans want to solve the problem of the Strait of Hormuz through foolish actions, they should be careful not to add another strait to their problems and difficult situation," he said.

According to him, Iran is fully prepared for an escalation of the situation: "If the adversary has doubts and cannot learn lessons from its experience, it can test us once again, as in the case of (the attacks on the Iranian area of) Asaluyeh and other incidents."
