Influential Iraqi religious scholar issues a warning

Influential Iraqi Shiite scholar Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani has issued a warning against attacks on Iran's leadership.

BAKU.WS, citing "The Times of Israel," reports that he emphasized the danger that the Iran-Israel conflict could plunge the entire region into chaos.

"We warn against any threats directed at high-ranking religious and political leaders of Iran. Committing such a criminal step will have extremely severe consequences for the situation in the entire region;

We call on international actors and countries of the world, especially Islamic states, to do everything possible to end this unjust war," the statement from the Iraqi scholar says.
