Book returned to American library after 82 years

In the USA, a book was returned to the library after 82 years. This was reported by UPI.
The book "Your Child, His Family and Friends" was returned to a library in San Antonio, Texas. It is noted that the copy was checked out in July 1943. It was supposed to be returned within 28 days. However, the library received the book in June 2025 in a package from Oregon.
A note was included with the package. The sender found the book among his father's belongings. He assumes that his grandmother had checked out the copy. The author of the note hoped that "there would be no fine for the late return, because grandmother would no longer be able to pay it."
The sender added that his grandmother was transferred to Mexico for work in 1943.
The publication noted that in 2021, the library canceled late fees for overdue books, so no fines will need to be paid.
