Barack Obama explained his statement about extraterrestrials
Former United States President Barack Obama believes that the chances of our planet being visited by representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations are extremely low.
The politician posted the corresponding publication on his Instagram account after his recent statements regarding alien life caused a strong reaction online.
"I was trying to answer in a rapid-fire manner, but since it generated such interest, let me clarify," he commented under a video clip of his conversation with American podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen.
In his opinion, from a statistical standpoint, the scale of the Universe is so vast that the possibility of life existing beyond Earth is quite high. Nevertheless, the colossal distances between star systems make visits from aliens to us practically impossible. Obama also emphasized that during his years in the presidential office, he did not encounter any confirmation of extraterrestrial beings making contact with humans.
During the interview, the former American leader mentioned that "aliens exist," although he personally has not observed them. "They're not hiding them in Area 51. There are no underground bunkers with them there, unless there exists a massive conspiracy, the details of which were concealed even from the President of the United States," Obama concluded.
