Armed man held two women hostage in Dagestan

An armed resident of the Republic of Dagestan held his ex-wife and her sister hostage. The reason was the man's dissatisfaction with the court's divorce decision. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region.
It was established that on August 8, a 62-year-old resident of the Tarumovsky district, armed with a hunting rifle, broke into the house of his former wife, where her sister was also present.
The man demanded to invite the district judge and a representative of the prosecutor's office, as he disagreed with the court's decision on the divorce proceedings.
During negotiations, one of the hostages, the ex-wife's sister, was released.
"After two hours, SOBR officers proceeded to the active phase of the operation to free the hostage. As a result of the measures taken by the Russian Guard, the criminal was neutralized, and the second hostage was also released unharmed," the department's publication states.
The man was taken to the police station. The operation to rescue the women involved employees of the Dagestan Ministry of Internal Affairs and fighters of the SOBR "Yastreb-Caspiy" of the Russian Guard department of the republic.
