Sports commentator Alexander Grishin died on the railway

Figure skating commentator Alexander Grishin suddenly passed away at the age of 47, according to Russian media.

"Yes, I confirm that he has died. I cannot say anything more," said Grishin's wife Anastasia, as quoted by "RIA Novosti Sport".

"He died as a result of an accident on a railway platform during heavy rain," TASS quotes Grishin's wife Anastasia.

Recently, Grishin had been working for Channel One and commentated on major figure skating tournaments, including the Olympic Games.

From 2004 to 2015, Grishin was a commentator on the "Sport" TV channel, and from 2015 to 2018 - on "Match TV". He worked at several Olympic Games, World and European Football Championship matches, and World and European Figure Skating Championships. Since 2018, Grishin had been working for Channel One.
