Caliber: The text of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia will be initialed in Washington

In the near future, an event of significant political and historical importance will take place in Washington - the initialing of the text of a peace agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.

This is reported by the Telegram channel Caliber.Az.

"This step means that the parties have reached consensus on all points of the draft treaty and will officially record their agreement with its content.

Initialing is an important diplomatic procedure which, although not equivalent to the final signing of the agreement, nevertheless confirms the completion of the text coordination stage. From the perspective of international practice, this indicates the parties' readiness to move toward concluding a full-fledged and legally binding peace treaty.

At the same time, the actual signing of the peace treaty may occur after the nationwide referendum on constitutional amendments is held in Armenia in 2026," the publication states.
