Unexpected sign of heart disease surprised scientists
Scientists have discovered an unexpected symptom that may indicate heart problems. According to a new study, one of the possible signs of cardiovascular disease is changes in nail condition.
Specialists note that bluish nail discoloration, brittleness, or the appearance of ridges may signal poor circulation caused by heart failure or other heart diseases. Additionally, finger swelling and changes in nail shape (such as thickening) may be signs of tissue oxygen deprivation, which often accompanies cardiac pathologies.
Medical professionals urge people to pay attention to any changes in nail and skin condition, especially if accompanied by shortness of breath, quick fatigue, or chest pain. If such symptoms appear, it is recommended to seek medical attention immediately for diagnosis and timely treatment.
Previously, scientists have also identified other unexpected signs of heart problems, including snoring, bleeding gums, and nighttime leg cramps.
