A solar flare, the strongest since June, has occurred on the Sun

Astronomers have recorded the strongest solar flare in the past two months on the Sun. This was reported by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The maximum radiation was registered on August 25 at 08:24 Moscow time, with its level reaching M4.6. According to the modern five-point scale, the event is classified as category four.

Scientists explained that the active zones are not yet directed straight at Earth, however, their position may change within the next day, which will increase the probability of impact on our planet. The first peripheral effects from the plasma ejection are expected in the evening of August 25, with the main impact expected in the second half of August 26.
