The Sun experienced a fourth flare on Tuesday. This was reported by TASS, citing the Institute of Applied Geophysics.

The M1.0 (S21E26) flare was recorded at 17:07 Moscow time in the X-ray range. Its duration was 45 minutes.

Earlier, M3.3, M1.3, and M4.5 flares were reported.

Scientists from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported an increase in solar activity overnight. They allow for the possibility of a flare of the highest X class.

Solar flares are classified by X-ray emission power into five classes: A, B, C, M, and X, where A is the minimum and X is the maximum. Each class is 10 times more powerful than the previous one. Class M and X flares can cause geomagnetic storms, affect satellite communications, navigation, and cause auroras at atypical latitudes.
