Scientists have warned about strong geomagnetic storms in the coming days
From December 9 to 10, Earth will be hit by severe magnetic storms, which, according to experts' forecasts, may reach the G2-G3 level.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy IKI RAS, powerful geomagnetic disturbances are expected due to a plasma ejection that came after an M8.1 class flare that occurred last night.
Scientists note that the flare itself was moderate, but it occurred almost directly on the Sun-Earth line. That is why an almost frontal impact on the planet is predicted, which will increase the intensity of magnetic storms to maximum levels. At the same time, there are no factors that could weaken the impact, the laboratory specialists emphasized.
