On December 7, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Torobaev.

As reported by BAKU.WS, noting that a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic will be held in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev said that the agenda of the meeting is extensive, and considered this as an indicator of close interaction between our countries.

Emphasizing that bilateral relations have been rapidly developing in recent years, the head of state touched upon the role of high-level mutual visits in this regard.

Noting the support provided by Kyrgyzstan for the restoration of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, President Ilham Aliyev once again expressed gratitude to President Sadyr Japarov and the people of Kyrgyzstan for the construction of the Aykol Manas full secondary school building in the village of Khydyrly in Aghdam district.

The President of Azerbaijan said that the sending of 200 yaks by the head of state of Kyrgyzstan as a gift to the territories liberated from occupation is also a manifestation of our friendly relations.

The head of state recalled with satisfaction the opening of a monument to the outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov in Baku, the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Friendship Park and the Educational Complex of School-Gymnasium No. 20 named after Heydar Aliyev in Bishkek.

Touching upon investment projects, President Ilham Aliyev also emphasized the agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan on the construction of a hotel on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul.

Noting that the agenda of political interaction is very broad, President Ilham Aliyev said that the Azerbaijani-Kyrgyz joint investment fund, established by the decision of the heads of the two states, has already begun financing the first projects, and a number of projects are at the financing stage. The head of state reported that our country has allocated financial resources for the formation of the fund's capital, and if the number of projects increases, Azerbaijan will allocate additional funds.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that Kyrgyzstan was one of the first states to support Azerbaijan's accession to the format of cooperation with Central Asian countries. He regarded this as an embodiment of the brotherly nature of our relations.

Noting that our country has become a full participant in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States, the head of state expressed gratitude to Kyrgyzstan and other countries for this. He said that this will connect the countries of Central Asia even more closely with the South Caucasus region, will play its role in ensuring uninterrupted and stable cargo transportation in both directions, and will further strengthen the brotherly ties between our peoples.

Expressing gratitude for the reception on behalf of the delegation, Bakyt Torobaev first conveyed the greetings of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to the head of our state.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Sadyr Japarov as well.

The guest noted that our bilateral relations, based on common historical roots and centuries-old friendship, have reached the highest level of strategic partnership thanks to the political will of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.

Touching upon the importance of direct air communication between Baku and Bishkek, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized the importance of increasing the number of flights in this direction in the future.

Bakyt Torobaev said that Kyrgyzstan is looking forward to the visit of the President of Azerbaijan.

During the conversation, issues related to the prospects of cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, mutual investment, humanitarian, educational, agricultural and other areas of mutual interest were discussed.
