Scientists made a disturbing statement regarding the Caspian Sea
According to calculations carried out in different years throughout the republic, the regional operational reserves of underground waters in Azerbaijan amount to 23,764,280 cubic meters per day (or 9 billion cubic meters per year).
As Oxu.az reports, this was stated by the head of the cadastre, accounting and registry department of the State Supervision Service for Water Use and Protection of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA) Rafig Verdiyev during his speech on the last day of the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference "Water Management" - Baku Water Week.
He also noted that according to some climate scenarios, by the end of the century, the Caspian Sea level is predicted to drop by more than 10 meters.
