Scientists named the critical age after which aging accelerates

An international group of researchers from Singapore and China conducted a large-scale study that helped identify the age after which aging processes in the body begin to accelerate. The findings are published in the scientific journal Nature Aging.
According to the scientists, the critical age is 65 years. It is from this period that significant biological changes occur in the body, affecting the immune system, metabolism, cardiovascular and other vital functions. This is confirmed by changes in the blood, decreased regenerative capacity of tissues, and increased inflammatory processes.
Interestingly, the researchers also noted that the aging of the body occurs unevenly and has three key phases - approximately at 30, 60, and 65 years. The first phase is accompanied by the beginning of a decrease in metabolic activity, the second by a slowdown in cell recovery, and after 65 years, aging becomes more rapid.
Scientists emphasize that a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition, physical activity, and control of chronic diseases can significantly slow down age-related changes even after 65 years.
Thus, knowledge of the "acceleration points" of aging allows doctors and people themselves to approach the prevention of age-related diseases and planning of wellness programs more accurately.
