Mukhtar Babayev: Baku Climate Week Will Give Impetus to Transformations in the Economy
Baku Climate Week will give impetus to economic transformation and addressing climate challenges.
As Report informs, this was stated by Azerbaijan's Presidential Representative on Climate Issues Mukhtar Babayev at the event "Energy Transition, Climate Finance and Industrial Decarbonization" within the framework of Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026).
According to him, the climate week will contribute to economic transformation and the advancement of the climate agenda.
"The world is experiencing increasing problems with fires, food, healthcare, and the cause of all this is climate change. These problems are particularly relevant for small island states. Recently, floods and natural disasters around the world have claimed the lives of 2 million people," he said.
Babayev also emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation among Caspian countries in combating climate change.
"We must share resources. For Azerbaijan, the climate agenda also holds political significance. COP29 demonstrated that Azerbaijan takes a sensitive approach to these issues and is working on solving the problems."
