Yalchin Rafiyev called on countries to unite in the fight against climate change
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev stated the need to unite countries around common climate goals.
As Report informs, he made this statement at the Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026).
According to him, the strength and success of the Paris Agreement will not be limited to the promises made by Azerbaijan:
"COP29 identified transparency as one of the priority areas and called on parties to submit their first biennial transparency reports. Our work in this direction did not end at COP29. Through the Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform, we are supporting the presidency that succeeded us and the secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in implementing the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) and preparing the second biennial reports. The main thing is to be able to show that we have turned our promises into reality."
