Dietitian Nadezhda Litvinova-Grazion warned about the danger of the habit of finishing New Year's salads in the morning, noting that prepared dishes can quickly become a source of serious health problems.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Lenta.ru", the specialist explained that the main threat is associated with rapid bacterial contamination of salads, especially those containing mayonnaise, sour cream, eggs, meat, sausage or fish. Staphylococcus, salmonella, E. coli and various types of clostridia actively multiply in such dishes.

According to the dietitian, consuming spoiled food can lead to food poisoning. Pathogenic microorganisms cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and cramps, as well as fever. In severe cases, dehydration and electrolyte imbalance may develop, which can lead to dizziness, pronounced weakness and even cardiac rhythm disturbances.

Litvinova-Grazion emphasized that even when stored in the refrigerator, dangerous microorganisms can actively multiply, especially if the temperature exceeds the norm or if not the freshest products were used during preparation. According to her, eating salads the next day is acceptable only if they have been continuously stored in the refrigerator at a temperature not exceeding +4 °C and no more than 24 hours have passed since preparation. Otherwise, it's better to avoid such dishes.
