The signing of the "Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Governments of Azerbaijan and the USA" will make an important contribution to the development of cooperation in the energy sector.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), this was stated during a meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and a delegation led by Betsy Burns Korn, Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
"During the meeting, Azerbaijan's successful relations with Israel and the USA in various areas, including the energy sector, were noted with satisfaction. It was emphasized that the signing of the 'Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America' will make an important contribution to the development of cooperation in the energy sector," the statement said.

In addition, it was emphasized that Israel is one of the main export markets for Azerbaijani oil, and SOCAR's projects in that country were also discussed. In particular, in 2025 SOCAR acquired a 10 percent stake in the "Tamar" gas field and obtained a drilling license for a new section of the "Leviathan" field jointly with bp and the Israeli company NewMed.
